Headquartered in Val Alystyne, TX, Save the Bees USA is an NPO dedicated to pollinator conservation through education, habitat restoration, advocacy and community engagement. They offer a variety of programs to safeguard the health and longevity of bee populations.
Bees pollinate over 75% of the crops that make up the food we eat, ensuring biodiversity and agricultural productivity. Reports indicate that beekeepers lost more than half of their colonies between June 2024 and February 2025. This is a direct threat to our agriculture and food production.

Concept Development
Bees perceive the world through the ultraviolet spectrum — a realm of color and light invisible to the human eye. Similarly, the challenges they face often go unseen by us. This design explores the unseen perspectives of bees through spatial organization, lighting, and material selection. By translating ultraviolet perception into architectural expression, the space reveals what is normally hidden, inviting visitors to experience the world as bees do.
This section showcases a series of AutoCAD drawings that detail the project’s spatial layout and technical development. This includes floor plans, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), elevations, and sections that illustrate the functional organization and design intent.
The 3D Renderings section features visuals produced using SketchUp and Enscape, capturing the project’s atmosphere, materiality, and lighting. These renderings translate the design into realistic, immersive scenes that reflect the spatial intent and overall aesthetic.
The Diagrams section includes a series of analytical and conceptual visuals that break down key aspects of the design. These include evaluations of the floor plans and RCPs, sound mapping diagrams, and concept/mood diagrams that reinforce the project's spatial and atmospheric goals.
